One proud mama

We just wrapped up ski racing season!

With my middle son active on our local race team, to have it be over feels like a huge relief. Not just because I'm a Nervous Nellie and would have a heart attack every time he was at the start gate, then go whizzing by me at an incredible rate— but also because of the time commitment being a part of this team really required.

Here’s a shout out to our car pooling partner, Amy and Faz! We couldn’t have done it without you guys!

This past weekend was the final race of the season.

We made it a family weekend and headed north to the Adirondack mountains. We rented a cabin in the woods and the boys lived like characters from "Lord of the Flies" for three days, in between skiing and spectating.

I couldn’t be more proud of my little ripper.

He has confidence and gumption like I’ve never had. I’m not sure how much longer he will continue to race, but I do know skiing will remain a big part of his life. So... I won’t get rid of my cowbell just yet ;)

I’m also super proud of my other two boys.

They are both trying out a new sport this spring. Syracuse, New York is widely known for creating super star lacrosse players. For my oldest and youngest sons to try this sport now, when most of their friends have been playing since they were toddlers, takes a lot of courage. Way to go boys! Again, I am one incredibly proud mama.
