Last week I was featured on the news for World Kindness Day. I was so honored, and a little nervous ;)
I arrived a couple minutes late, thanks to an unexpected snow fall the night before. Luckily my super kind son, Nolan, went out to brush off my minivan while I finished putting on some extra "tv makeup". Thank you, Goose!
My only experience with live tv was a few times on a local talk show. That format is slower and more go with the flow. But live news is nuts! I walked right on set to the weather man, ON AIR, in front of the green screen, and cameras everywhere. I almost forgot to turn off my phone! Can you imagine?
The entire morning went in a blink. The morning anchor, Farah Jadran, is such a pro and clearly has it all down seamlessly. Without skipping a beat she brought me in, got my microphone set up, put me on a small riser behind the desk, reminded me to breathe and to just look and talk to her, and then BAM — we were live.
Thank goodness for the clip on Facebook, otherwise I would have no recollection of what I said. I stuttered a little, but hopefully got the point across.
I make kindness products (t-shirts, tote bags and paper) and my intention is to help spread love, acceptance and smiles —and teach gratitude to kids.
A special thank you goes out to Farah Jadran, Megan Coleman and CNY Central for the love and support. I am SO thrilled to get the word out about my business, about my new "baby" GratiKids (coming in January) and to spread kindness all over the world!
